Finishing a project always creates space for something new to grow. After releasing a few of my bossa nova-inspired songs, I felt a shift happening—I was ready to explore a new sound.
Around that time, my husband started playing house music in the mornings and casually mentioned, "You should try making something like this." At first, I brushed it off, thinking, that’s not really my thing… but the idea kept coming back.
I started digging into the world of house music, and slowly, it began to feel less intimidating and more exciting. Like with anything, if you’re willing to show up and put in the hours, you’ll grow.
For the past six months, I’ve been learning how to produce house music—and honestly, it’s been one of the most fun and rewarding creative journeys I’ve ever taken.
“Kuuvalguses” is my first release in this new direction, and I wanted to write it in my native language, Estonian. There’s something really special about expressing myself in both Estonian and English—it keeps me connected to where I come from and where I’m going.
The song will be out on May 22th, and I can't wait for you to hear it.
With love,
Janne
