My Musical Journey
Janne Saar is an Estonian pop singer-songwriter whose career began as part of the girl group Nexus. Formed when she was 16, Nexus quickly became one of Estonia’s most popular girl bands, with hit singles like “Nii Kuum” and “Hingetuna”—both earning Estonia’s Hit Song of the Year honors. After Nexus disbanded in 2006, Janne launched a solo career, releasing her debut album Millist Armastust in 2007. She soon competed in Estonia’s Eurovision selection, Eesti Laul, with entries like “I Am Too Good for You” (2009) and “Fight for Love” (2012). Seeking to broaden her horizons, she moved to Los Angeles to continue her music career, where she wrote and co-produced her first English EP, Meeting the Wolf. Now based in Florida—but still closely connected to the Bahamas—Janne’s music reflects her love for island life, blending pop, R&B, and bossa nova. Her 2024 Mystery EP captured these warm, laid-back vibes. In May 2025, she released Kuuvalguses, her first self-produced Estonian single, marking a bold new direction into house and dance music. Embracing both Estonian and English, Janne continues to evolve—crafting songs that blend emotion, rhythm, and modern edge.
